2002 Premium Foal German OldenburgVerband (Branded)
On Aug. 17/06 Dubonnet was awared Premium Mare Book Status with
the German Oldenburg Verband with an overall evaluation of 7.5.
She received 8's for head, breed and sex type, correctness of gaits,
and general impression and development. Inspectors verbal comments
were " very high quality mare" , and described as being
"breathtaking" and "exquisite". Written comments
of "elegant" and "long legs".
The 2006 Bergmann Award for Best Mare was been awarded to Dubonnet,
Bred and born in North America, Dubonnet was branded as a premium
foal and has now matured into a lovely premium mare.
The Bergmann Award is sponsored by Dr. Cynthia Bergmann of Canterbury
Court in Fresno, California, who created the annual award for best
Oldenburg -registered mare from each year's North American inspection
tours. Dubonnet qualified for the 2006 award by earning an overall
score of 7.5. In selecting Dubonnet, the inspection team described
her as "a breathtaking, exquisite mare of very high quality".
Dubonnet received a leather halter and embroidered blanket.
Dubonnet's
first foal was Fabryana JRF, a 2006 filly by the Hanoverian Stallion
Fabuleux (Fabriano) and she also foaled a lovely bay colt June 2007
by the Oldenburg Stallion Routinier (Rohdiamant/Inschallah). (This
colt is deceased. Pictured to right)
Brandy was backed but not started due to pregnancies, so she was
only started late summer of her 5th year. She was started under
saddle in September 2007 for 2 1/2 months then had the winter off.
In May and June 2008 she was ridden by Hunter rider before going
into her first dressage show in July 2008 after only 2 weeks with
a dressage rider, where she scored 60 and 65% at an EC show in Training
Level. (video below) She is in regular training and showing currently
and coming along well.
First dressage show in July 2008.
65% Training Level Dressage Test 2.
First Show & 5 months under saddle.
Brandy is a lovely tempered mare and is a carbon copy of mom Hela.
Very fluid uphill mover with three wonderful gaits. Matured to 16.3-17hh.
She is a very sensitive mare, very soft and giving with no resistances
or stiffnesses, very soft mouth and very responsive to leg and seat.
This mare could go all the way with a good rider! In addition to
her dressage work, she is currently being hacked out, getting used
to everything from sliding western reiners to miniature horses and
jumping horses in the group warmup ring when she goes out to shows
as part of her training, and went in hunter flat classes as well
as dressage.
Nov 2008 update: Coming along very well in training, working on
1st level work in schooling. Sitting trot developing, shoulder-fore,
leg yield and counter-canter loops good, canter is much stronger
now, contact steadier, very easy to control shoulders and haunches
on this horse - have done some shoulder-in, turn on haunches, turn
on forehand, reinbacks etc. Playing with w/c/w occasionally. She's
a joy to ride... (Got over 60% in a schooling show on First Level
tests, Dec 2008)
May 2009: Showed 1st Level for the first time at
a Recognized show in early May 2009, and scored over 60% in 1st
Level Test 1.
